British motocross fans are in for a treat once again as five-time world champion Jeffrey Herlings has confirmed his intention to compete at two rounds of the 2025 British Championship.

Herlings, who raced the full series last year and clinched the MX1 title, won’t contest the entire championship this time around. However, the Dutchman is set to make two special appearances—at Preston Docks and the Scottish circuit of Duns.

The presence of one of the sport’s all-time greats is a major boost for the series, and fans will relish the opportunity to see Herlings in action on British soil again—especially as he’s expected to be in better form come those events.

Speaking about his plans, Herlings told GateDrop.com.

Most likely, I’m going to do Preston Docks. And I think a track called Duns in Scotland. It’s like two day’s of racing, Saturday and Sunday or something. That’s what I heard. My man, goggle Bob (Buchanan), he sorts me out with the British Championship. So, yeah, furthermore, you know, Red Bull KTM did a great job. I think we have a really good bike. We definitely have a better bike as we did last year. Even though the noise has came down. So, the team has been, throughout the winter, even though a lot was going on with KTM, I think the team has worked their butt off because the bike definitely is better as we had last year. So, now it’s just up to me to make it work.”

Herlings’ involvement, even on a limited basis, will no doubt add further excitement to the series and provide valuable exposure for the domestic championship.
