It hasn’t been an easy time for Håkon Fredriksen in recent years dealing with injuries and health issues. The Norwegian has parted ways with the WZ KTM team but will be back on a Yamaha for the 2025 season.
Fredriksen has had some of the best times of his career on a Yamaha and will also have a new challenge for the upcoming season as he’ll move up to the 450cc class full time. It looks like a good decision as he should really suit the bigger bike.
It is still yet to be revealed what championships he will race in 2025 but hopefully we’ll see him contest selected MXGP rounds.
The Norwegian posted his plans on social media:
“Back in blue.
It will be Yamaha and team YRC High Performance, a Yamaha Motor Scandinavia team. After years of injury and adversity, it feels great to get back to the core.
Already after the first lap on the new bike I felt at home and comfortable, so I would say it is the best bike on the market. WITHOUT A DOUBT!
There is no one else I could dream of collaborating with other than these. There are people with real passion and an extreme knowledge of all types of motorcycles. I’m sure this is the right choice for me to get back where I belong. This will be good”
