Italian rider, Giuseppe Tropepe has revealed he has plans to race the Japanese Motocross Championship in 2025.

He won’t contest the full series as two rounds clash with the Italian Championship but he will contest six out of the eight rounds after agreeing a deal with the Autobrothers mx team.

“I have always looked at the Japanese culture with admiration, for me it is almost like a dream to be able to race there on a motorbike. I’m friends with Brian Hsu who races for another team in the same area as me and he gave me the contact with the Japanese guys – we immediately found an agreement”, Tropepe told GateDrop.com.

“I will participate in 6 of the 8 championship races, unfortunately the other two races are on the same days as the Italian championship. It definitely won’t be easy, I think everything is different from what I’m used to, but I can’t wait to get started”,  concluded Tropepe.

The Italian will be staying with the Millionaire Racing Team to contest the Italian Championship which gets underway this weekend in the sand of Ottobiano.

Tropepe had a strong 2024 season after finishing third in the MX1 Championship series – behind Alessandro Lupino and Jan Pancar. The Honda rider will be looking for much of the same in 2025.

Not only will he race the Italian series but he’ll be contesting the EMX Open series at Lommel where he is looking for redemption. He was only a couple of corners away from winning the first moto last year before running out of fuel – it would have been a superb win at the gnarly Lommel but he’ll be motivated later this year.

The experienced Italian also has plans to contest selected MXGP World Championship events so he’ll have a busy schedule in 2025 but it remains to be seen what rounds of MXGP he’ll contest.
