Remember Mitch Evans? Since stepping away from the MXGP World Championship things have been pretty quiet with the Aussie.
He had a serious wrist injury and after stints with Factory HRC Honda and Kawasaki in MXGP, he hasn’t been racing. He did get back on a bike in September and he stated it was fun to get back on a bike without having any pain.
“367 days since I last threw my leg over a bike! Had to dust the cobwebs off my gear and make sure there were no snakes or toads in my boots. Felt good to enjoy riding without agonising pain for the first time in 4 years! Thanks Clay Thompson for the lend of the bike”, Evans shared on social media in September.
The Aussie has now confirmed he will be racing Dortmund Supercross in what will be his first race in a very long time.
Will this be a return to racing for the Aussie or just a one off event? Who knows at this stage but it will be nice to see him back racing and doing something he spent many years doing. If it wasn’t for his wrist issues he had a very bright future in the sport.
Dortmund Supercross will take place from the 10th to the 12th of January.
“Hey guys, my German isn’t so good but I’ll try. After a long break I’m back on a bike. The last time I raced Supercross was 2018 (six years ago). So we will see but I’m excited to have a little bit of fun at Dortmund and to see you guys there. I will ride for Lukes Racing Team. See you in Dortmund and I hope for your support”, Evans stated on social media.
