It was a night of drama in Paris with crashes and battles creating a memorable opening night of racing.
The drama kicked off immediately in SX1 Superpole with Greg Aranda, fastest in practice, going all out to beat Jett Lawrence’s superpole time until he went so fast in the whoops he couldn’t get stopped for the turn and went straight on over the berm and into the safety net!
That confirmed Jett as superpole winner but even he was expecting Aranda to make it close!

In the opening SX2 race it was deja vu as Tom Vialle, while leading, did exactly the same thing but with more speed and without the net, Vialle would have been seriously injured. Shimoda would take the win but Vialle was back for race two and held off Shimoda for the victory.
The main event was race three and with Shimoda all over Vialle, it was the Japanese rider who went down in a corner clutching his knee! Vialle took the win and now it is on again for Vialle and the overall win – but it is Anthony Bourdon leading the points after night onw!

Jett Lawrence took the opening moto win as Webb, Stewart, Hunter Lawrence and Dylan Ferrandis went at it with Stewart taking second and Webb third.
Race two looked more of the same with Jett holding Webb off early before pulling away until a couple of laps to go when he clipped a backmarker and went down hard! Jett would get 13th and not rejoin the race as Webb barely held off Stewart for the win.

Thankfully, Jett was unhurt, and he came back to win the third moto passing early leader Stewart with Webb eventually working his way into second to win night one in Paris with Stewart second and Ferrandis third.
Webb said: “It was a great night, finally got a win here. It was a battle with me and Malcolm that last race. We are tight on points, tomorrow is going to be important.”
