At just 17 Cole Davis is a supercross winner, dominating in Seattle. The Kiwi rider is stunning the world with his speed, technique and skill this season but Ben Townley was there at the beginning of Cole’s supercross journey and his rapid progressio.
Townley said: “You gotta’ start somewhere! It’s crazy to think this was Colin’s starting point a little less than 3 years ago now. This is the first day he attempted to hit the whoops, the 3 months prior to this day was just getting comfy on a supercross track!! Fast forward to today and he’s one of the best in the world at hitting whoops, probably top 5 in the world I’d say right at them, that just seems crazy to say 🤯 This was a typical day, me just doing all the talking and explaining, Cole sitting there like a stunned mullet staring straight through me haha Great job Chatterbox, first of many mate 👊🏻 Thanks CD for capturing so much of Cole’s start too @cdphotograaphy”
Davies remember, is only 17, and might just be the best supercross rider in the West coast, technically speaking, even including Deegan and Beaumer, Davies has the confidence that he can do and the skills to deliver. Now he has one win, watch out because this kid is special and has technical skills to rival Jett Lawrence/Jorge Prado. He is that perfect on a back. His potential is immense.
Watch below as the former MX2 world champ and 250 East coast champion helped Cole develop his perfect technique.
