Carmichael and Villopoto on Hampshire’s move on Hammaker

Ricky Carmichael and Ryan Villopoto gave their thoughts on the controversial move from RJ Hampshire that cost Hammaker and, as it turned out, Hampshire their shot at the title as Tom Vialle cruised on by to clinch his second 250 East title in a row.

RV said on their podcast Title 24: “I feel like Seth should have knew anything could happen for this championship position, it wasn’t dirty, he came in and ran him high, the angle wasn’t bad. It’a a bummer all around, for Seth, for Mitch for RJ, but the cream always rises to the top and that was Tom on Saturday night.”

He didn’t come in blazingly quick, he didn;t come in and blow him out, the stupid part on RJ’s side of that was he put himself on the ground, it didn’t work out for him. The move he was trying to pull didn’t work, put them both on the ground and Seth lost the championship and so did RJ. From that standpoint, it was a boneheaded move, if you are going to run it in like that, you got to make sure you get out of it, so that it makes it worthwhile.
