Mano Faure set the pace during free practice in Agueda which is dry for the moment.
The MJC Yamaha rider was seven tenths faster than Aron Katona who is in control of the championship.
Katona’s team mate, Nicolo Alvisi was third fastest with Gennaro Utech fourth and Filippo Mantovani rounding out the top five.
Cole McCullough was sixth fastest ahead of Francesco Bellei.
Fingers crossed the conditions stay dry over the weekend.
